My, my, my, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’m still stuck in post-China transition limbo with this diary. I don’t want to change the page layout because I’ll lose it on all the China entries, but entering US-based entries in to this China template doesn’t seem right, either. I should just start a new diary. Hmmm. Anyways, til I get off my butt and do that, here’s an update in the meantime. We did get the kitties, on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. And they’re wonderful. And so much work and worry. I am so not cut out for “real” motherhood. I could hardly sleep last night because Imo got a bit of hard kitty treat stuck in the side of her mouth and neither she nor we could get it out. It really freaked me out when she crawled under my dresser – she never hides under stuff. Poor little kitty. It either melted or she dislodged it eventually because she was fine this morning, playing and eating with gusto. Whew. So, here are some pictures: This one is when we first brought them home and were releasing them from the carrier.
 And here they are playing:
Imo is the white one, a girl. Eli is the orange/buff one, a boy. Other than the new additions to the family, there’s not much going on here. Our apartment is all settled, painted and furnitured. The holidays were quiet, quieter than usual because I got sick and cancelled my usual Boston Christmas Marathon. A bummer, but probably a very good thing for my health. John’s still teaching English part-time and is cranking through his graduate work. He’s going to finish his MA in a year. Go him! New Year’s was nice, we had people over and played a game called Fact or Crap – hee. It involved holding up little signs on popsicle sticks that said Fact on oneside and Crap on the other. Again, hee. I want to bring one of the signs into work and bring it to meetings. Or just have it in my cube as an indicator of my mood. Most days it would be Crap-side out. Meh. In other news, I joined Marnand her illustrious Going Nowhere posse. I'm committing to going 400 miles nowhere on the elliptical machine this calendar year, and logging 150 hours of exercise classes. I'm excited about it, tracking my progress is sure to have a motivating effect. I just got a new strength routine from my trainer and I'm excited about that, too. It contains lots of challenging new exercises that I haven't done before. She's working me towards being able to do pull-ups - something I can't do now. So that's the news here.
